Love the Hi-Tech tail numbers. I wish they were in my back yard.

          Torrance

It's funny that all these are from Torrance, know known as "The People's Republic of Torrance" today. (Unless things have changed) No Jet A because they don't want to encourage that type at TOA. And oh will you be in trouble if your plane is too noisy. Exceeding the limit on the noise monitors they have station around the airport will supposedly bring "Action" against you. Maybe not on the first offense. Even though birds of the feather variety have nailed the meter and our aluminum brethren are blamed. Anyway, your okay if your in a R-22 or R-44.

Okay back to the topic. N7701C was Escape II, the other I don't know.

But Bill look on the bright side they can pollute the ground water and the air as much as it is feasibly profitable!

The Bud Fountain plane "Hawke Dusters" was N148F when it crashed in 1973 with the race number of 24. In 1969 it flew with race 99. It was BuNo 121787. So I don't think it is the same unless the N number was changed in there sometime.

                    Bearcat Misc.

N7701C was Jack Sliker's race #4 "Escape II", which I believe-
was the last Bearcat built (?)

N7699C was later registered as N1111L, raced with some success
(ha ha) by Mr. Darryl Greenamyer as race #1, "Conquest I"

                        Fountain Bearcat

Bill, You are correct. Bud Fountain's Bearcat race #99/#24
was s/n 121787, and had previously raced as #11 while owned by John Church. I posted a picture of #11 in the "Name That Bearcat" thread recently.

How about pictures of other racing Bearcats- I know I have a few......

This may turn into my favorite thread ever!!! hahaha RG
