  • "Little One", "Tonapah Miss", or N66111 pictures

I have started looking for a few good pictures of this airplane in the 1965 to 1966 era when my Dad raced it at Reno, Las Vegas, and Fox field. It was blue, white and black. Does anybody have anything? IF you have something but don't want to post it PM me and I can talk to you about what you have. Thank you

    Hi John,

Might have something dad's archives but I'd suggest asking Jim Larsen.

I THINK this is an Aero Research photo from Reno '65. One of the only color shots I have of it as "Tonopah Miss". All the other pics are of it as "Little One" at Fox Field.

That same kid ruined a perfectly good shot of E.D. Weiner's #14. I blame it on bad parenting, but what can people do?

I can’t believe I don’t have a single shot of it. I’m going to go back through it all again but, I’m pretty sure I don’t have one.

Amazingly, there was apparently a law suit related to this airplane as recently as last November.

Just a little tidbit for Snakey to chew on....this could be the catalyst for the "Stiletto-treatment".

Actually, that was another one of Richard's Mustangs. He owned so many I am not sure he really knew where all of them were. He owned Anson Johnson's N13Y at the same time my dad was racing N66111, the conversation came around to racing that plane but the wings had corrosion issues and Teeters wasn't doing anything yet.

The last time I saw 66111 she was on a trailer outside of Pylon-Air (Vern Barker's shop/hangar at Long Beach). E.D. Weiner had bought the airplane and his estate offered it to Lyle. So we went to see it, there were discussions about buying it, but I think it was an airline strike put the end to that thought.

Make a full on racer out of 66111, nah, man that is a different story.
