      Sold

I read before Reno that someone in Kenosha, WI owned it, unless it has been sold since this summer.

maybe there is a way of contacting him...

Anybody live in the are who would give him a ring and see what he is up to with racer.....be great to have those awesome paint jobs (like sept fury) making the speeds (and noise) out there again.

I'm only about 2 hours away. I remember that whatever I read was around the time of the sale, and it was stated that he did plan on returning the racer to Reno. I think I read it on WAP, but I don't remember.

Yes, I found it, Scotty G replies in the thread that he planed on bringing it to Reno it '04.

That's why I love this web site! So much info has been passed around almost instantly. Wayne, you have no idea of your value to all of us!

Speaking of former racers making it to Reno. A few that we've talked about in the past were supposed to make it year after year. Does anyone have any info on:

                      The Red Baron
                      Mr. Awesome
                      The Leeward Air Ranch Special
(I talked to Leeward in 2002, he said he was only waiting on an engine)
                      Matt Jackson's racer
                      Daryl Greenamyer's racer

I know we've talked about them in the past. Any new info would be great.

Full throttle till you see God, then turn left!

The last word out of Matt J on his racer was hopefully flight testing by Reno 04, racing 05. The RB project was sold, and last I heard was only being used as parts for a B model restoration project. Supposedly the guy bought the project to get the good set of wings that Rogers had. I doubt we will ever see the rest of those parts again. I would imagine the only project Darly has going says Lancair on the side :-). Frostbite? WTH knows?

I met Eric Woelbing in the car rental shuttle when departing RNO after the race this year. Apparently, he was doing some work on the engine, which had a problem, but said that he was planning on bringing her to 2004.
