Obviously the times don't make any sense, does anyone know what the times really are?

The times are right....look at the laps run. The time for any racer is when they took the checkered flag. So based on the times, the physical order of planes crossing the finish line was 7, 114, 8, 71, 77, and 924.

7 and 77 completed all eight laps.

8, 71, and 924 completed seven.

114 completed six.
