  • John Herlihy

John Herlihy was killed in a T-28 accident.

John had raced in both the Unlimited and T-28 classes at Reno, and had done airshows in his Bearcat and Mustang as well.

My thoughts and prayers go out to John's family. RG

John was there when I first started going to the Races a quarter century ago. Number 98 was the first Bearcat I ever saw, and I saw it race hard...

      He will be missed.

I was on my way back from Oregon today and saw an assortment of warbirds, including a newly restored P-51 (Kimberly Kaye?) at the airport in Yreka/Weed, CA. They were apparently meeting there in order to form up for a tribute flyby over the services for Mr. Herlihy. A wonderful tribute to a fine man...........
