I finally finished the unlimited qual video!! I first want to say sorry for all the wind noise, somehow for the first half of the week the mic settings on the camera were set to the onboard stock camera mic instead of the shotgun mic, so it recorded all the sounds, especially all the wind. There are a couple of interesting maydays, one being the race 232 mayday where the engine let go in a very angry way, you can hear when Hoot is taxing out that the engine is not running ideal (popping out of the left side), I noticed while editing that as he’s rounding pylons 1 & 2 there are three flashes from the left exhaust stack just before he pulls off the course. The other mayday being the feathered prop landing of Thom Richard in Precious Metal.
