This ought to be aerodynamically in par with TU-95 The BEAR ! OTOH has 10 fold the power to weight ratio. Ok..it has a smaller RE number which does some damage but still.

Here is what BD-5 gets with STC calculator...it is dead accurate.

BD-5 set a record with 42 in prop at 74 hp and flew 218 mph !

Here is the ultimate version of this Super Pony....a V-tail idea came to me when yesterday a Fouga Magister ( civilian registered ) flew above our house doing some mild aerobatics.

I counted a 545 mph top speed at 3180 Newtons of thrust using 990 hp ( tops ) apparently just 750 hp will do.

Plane is 16 ft long and 17.4 ft spanning.

Engine is 6.4 litre LQ9 V-8 that costs stock 8700 usd at Turn Key.
