It's times like these that I really hate this job but here goes....
Carla Yancey, wife of the late great Bob Yancey of Race #101 Perestroika and Race #101 Old Blue, passed away on Sunday in Seattle.
Bob and Carla made their home in Klamath Falls, OR. This is where they gave life to Race #101 Perestroika, now known as Czechmate, with the help of Bill Whitlatch and others.
Carla will always be remebered as flamboyant, outspoken, and loved by all who knew and met her. I guess it is befitting that she passed away during Sunday's Final Race day in Reno since it was such a huge part of her life.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Monty and Carla Yancey of Klamath Falls; son Robert "Rob" Yancey of Portland; brother Dale Lange of Portland; and grandchildren Kurt and Alex Yancey of Klamath Falls.
She also leaves a close friend, Dennis Wise of Portland.
