  • Questions for all Eternity...For the Bear's Pilots

First let me say I admire all the owners, pilots and crews that have taken us on this Unlimited Air Racing journey. Thank you for all the past years flying before the public, and for sharing your insight with us.

With the Bear and Strega rumoured to not race again, I just gotta know...

If that Bear could stay together and not overheat, HOW MUCH WAS LEFT. What do you think the planes potential really was, IF you could have safely pushed harder...

Tell me the truth, could the Bear have blown past that liquid cooled slippery Devil that is Strega!

I just gotta know, We all just wanna know!!!

OK then, another question, which plane maybe had any advantage with the old track layout versus the new?

Or, Back in the day, when racing planes overflew the campers in the valley of speed regularly, was that scary, business as usual, or just plain kick in the pants......and How close did you ever come to one of those power poles...?

The best of the Rare Bear pilots is no longer able to respond to this question. However, it is doubtful that anybody would have seriously asked either him or Tiger the question. Because in both of their minds they themselves were always the fastest.
Lyle considered Tiger his closest friend, because he was the only person that understood what all of the hassle was that it took to campaign year after year on a shoestring.

                Lol.

Wayne you can lock this one 'cause there ain't anymore to say about this.

Thanks John. That has got to be the best answer to any thread ever posted.

Here's to fond memories of better times.

Lyle vs. Tiger are some of the greatest memories I have, and I will take them with me for eternity.

Wayne I assume it is okay to hotlink your images?
