  • BOX SEATS - What year did they start?

Can anyone tell me the first year that the BOX SEATING became available.

Looking back thru my ticket stub collection, the first one I came across was 1987.

    Thanks.

Has to be earlier than that, cuz I sat in the Freiberg Electric box in 1985.
They had been the major donor to fund the first NW Classic Air Race in Richland, WA in 1985, and were connected to the IF-1 racer owned by Ron Haas and flown by Bob Drew.
I may still have my ticket stub in my collection of stuff. Will have to look for it. tho.

Wife and I took another couple with us in 1980, that was the only year that couple went so I can pinpoint the year. There was a row of them in front of the main grandstand where we were seated, can't remember how many for sure. I'll dig up my slides from that trip and look at them.
