          We usually recommend the Aryes, but there are a number of local hotels that are all pretty good.

            No offense, but what makes you folks think you could draw any number of P-38s?

            I kid. Can't wait to see who turns out. These are from 2007 by the way.

                  I think Chad's photo shows most, if not all, of them. There may be one or two more that are flying, or flyable, in the States.

                  And then there's the Red Bull/former White Lightning that's in Austria.
                  If it's coming to the show, I'm there!

                    Yes, the photo shows all the active flyers in the U.S. except for Tillamook's Tangerine.

                    There two currently under rebuild at Westpac in Colorado Springs.

                      Isn't the special reconnaissance P-38 with the camera in the front from the Yankee Air Museum down the road flyable? Im almost positive they told me it was flyable..?

                        No it's not flying. The Yanks heavy iron stuff is always listed as flyable, but are never seen flying . If they aren't flying they shouldn't be on those lists. Those airplanes could fly with minimal work, they just don't fly.

                          That brings up an interesting question. I wonder how many P-38's are left flyable or non flyable?

                            There is a site wth data on all surviving P-38's:

                            <http://p38assn.org/surviving.htm?reloadedshow>

                            I found this a few years ago when AWO was celebrating their anniversary and wanted one to visit. Then there were 6 flying, many statics in various museumns/collections. In checking just now, it hasn'been updated for a couple of years.
