  • Matt Jackson's old pseudo-Swift

    Matt,

Any word yet on what might have caused your old pseudo-Swift to go down?

    Just curious,

Wow, free publicity. Why don't you PM him instead?

          Flyride,

I agree with Dialtapper, I guess I don't understand the point you're trying to get to regarding "free publicity".

I was simply asking Matt if he had heard anything about his old Swift that recently went down in San Antonio. Owning & selling airplanes (particularly experimental, antique and warbirds) is like losing a family member and often times there are many emotional attachments to said aircraft (especially when one gets torn up).

Since Matt is active on the forums here, I thought I'd ask. He answered the question. Thank you Matt!

There was nothing asked that I deemed to be so private as to PM him, therefore I didn't.

I'm a Swift-owner asking a former-Swift owner (yes, there's a brotherhood there) about his old airplane, hence the reason I signed my post as a Swift-owner. I'm not sure why you felt the need to sign yours as an experimental & warbird owner. I appreciate the information, but it isn't germane to the conversation except for sarcasm, I suppose.

If I'm misreading something, or reading too much into it, my apologies.

Now Happy New Year to you all!

Yea pretty bizarre reply, what's publicity have to do with it? . Nothing wrong with asking this here.

Is it a Swift or Cessna like they say in the news reel ?

Pretty lucky to survive it with no injury.

If it has wings all of the news media knows it has to be a Cessna...

                            Technically, it's neither.

Of course, to the media, anything small with a wing is a Cessna. As far as Swifts go, it's formerly serial #3584 (N3884K), built by Globe. It was taken out of the Normal category as a certified airplane and rebuilt by the late Bruce Seguin (longtime Swifter). He performed many mods and recertified the "Swift II" under Experimental-Amateur Built category.

Unless it's one of Cessna's jets (Tweets excluded)... then it's called a "Learjet" in the news
