I guess it would be hard not to excel at that noble pastime after a successful career in the field. If I didn't already, I would suddenly have the highest respect for plumbers! (coincidentally, I did about 3 hrs of GNARLY plumbing work as a favor to an old neighbor lady yesterday).

I will never understand why some houses are built without decent clean-out access!

With this years narrower deadlines and shorter course we may just see the Bear on the squeeze at the start. I say this because I think that the first plane to the first pylon will win if it stays healthy. So maybe we will get to see a 1000hp 3350.

Bob, (and EVERYBODY else), I get that it will be mucho, mondo, mega hard to pass on the new course, I reeaaally do get it; -BUT- how many times in your life have you already seen somebody do something ya swore couldn't be done????????

Heck man, now that I think about it, I would be flabbergasted if a lot of this same rhetoric about the course supposedly being ruined by any certain change (out of so many historically) hasn't already been stated with certainty, and then knocked down by RACE PILOTS just doin' what comes natural! If'n ya searched back thru the archives thoroughly.

I for one, am looking for an actual RACE come Sunday.

I really am not even talking about any specific airplane VS any other specific airplane, But, to use Rare Bear as an example:

How many of us even remember how rarely Team Bear has made the tactical choice to even briefly engage the "small thermonuclear device" / nitrous-oxide feed on Sunday, and what the compelling need was in that race?

I don't know much, but I can promise those who have forgotten, or just don't know, that they didn't do it without a need that was compelling in their brain trust, and that that choice is a RARE event.

Again, Bear is just one example of an airplane that can indeed pass on this or any other damn course, I would just hope for our own sake, that we maintain the inherent hope for something truly epic, no matter which racer may achieve it. Rather than talking about how great the races are out of one side of our mouth, while we're saying how pointless they are out of the other.
