  • Phoenix to Reno

Haven't even figured out how I am getting to Reno.
If a few people wanted to split Mu2 fuel, we could go in style...

    PM if any interest.

If I didn't live in reno, I would sell my car to split the fuel cost with you for that round trip.

The Mu2 looks like a slick airplane. How much per hour to operate it?

Does $1,066 per hour sound correct?

Table 1: Direct Operating Costs MU-2
      Item Cost per Hour
Fuel(1) (89 gal. per hr. fuel burn) $536.67
      Maintenance Labor 136.84
      Parts 132.91
      Engine restoration 138.44
      Component overhauls 58.43
      Landing fees/parking 9.55
      Crew expenses 30.00
      Supplies/catering 24.00
      Total $1,066.84

        Those numbers are about right.
Fuel burn averages around 90 as shown from all our historical records.
However on a recent long flight of 3.4 hobbs (wheels up) we burned 250 total. But cruise was FL270 at ISA+25. Getting high really helps.

        Averages are just that.
Most years we have no extra maintenance and operate way below the average. Then a dinket will flunk and barf up digits with commas.

When we were looking to buy the Mu2 we were very close on a deal for the Mu2 that was operated by XX and owned by XX at the time that XX crashed. Give me about an hour and I will recall those variables.
