  • A study in the new Unlimited course

    Good-day,
So, been in study of the new Unlimited course..
    I like it!

    Correct me if I'm wrong...

    #4, 5, 6 all moved in south.
(Making #4 a little easier to spot coming over the ridge on the east straight)

#7 is south just a bit, and east a bit. Easing the turn coming out of the valley significantly.

#8 moved north, and east.. Continuing that easy line out of the valley.

    No change on #9?

Explain what's changed on the home, #1, 2, and 3. I'm not seeing a lot?

If I'm correct, to maintain a smooth line coming through the home, and into turn 1, the aircraft may actually fly closer to the deadline along 8/26 ?

These things have all been discussed before, I realize.

RARA publishes a optimum calculated course length of 8.1034.
I'm finding an actual course length in the vicinity of 7.654 or so.

That means we need a lap time of 55.108 seconds for a true 500mph. (Or a speed of 529.364mph, via RARA's method)

This tells me that records will be "broken" this year, simply based on the calculation of the optimum flight path, being more conservative than previously. A little plane like Steadfast may post unheard of lap speeds for the little yak...go Will!

    Open to debate fellas...
Let's hear from someone who's been on the course.
