  • Purrrrrr..................

    I added the copyright to this photo to make it as 'legal' as possible...but I recently purchased a couple of Photo CD's from Aero Research Co. out of Reno, and the pictures are just fantastic. I would recommend their products for sure!

    Here is a sample of one of my all-time favorites. How could you not find this airplane sexy? Low-profile canopy, big sweeping wing fillets, H-model tail, and mirror-polished aluminum. The Whittington Brothers "Precious Metal" from Reno, 1981.

        That cut-down canopy is just plain SEXY.
        Must have been a little hard to see out of though.

          Everyone else who has flown with that canopy (John Putman, Mickey Rupp, Bill Rheinschild, Matt Jackson) says the visibility and distortion is bad.

          What surprises me is (similar to Ron Hevle fitting the Rare Bear), Whittington is tall and lanky...and how he fit under that thing baffled me.

            They take all of the cushions out and lower the seat to the bottom!

            My recollection of Ron after flying the Bearcat (his first time);
            "Ran smooth, goes fast" walks away, then stops and turns, "...Oh yeah, the generator quit, and the right brake is out."
            He is cool.

              When I fly the ASK-21 sailplane I take the seat out and sit on the cushion (about 1") or the chute on the floor and I still juuust miss the canopy.
              I can sympathize with them!
